GREAT RIVER RAMBLERS

Great River Ramblers is a hiking/walking group that meets the first Saturday of each month for an outing within an hour drive of Burlington. Most hikes are one to four miles length and are not to exceed five miles. The focus is fellowship and the enjoyment of all things God put on this earth in our local area. We hike trails within state, county and city parks, wildlife refuges, along city streets and, during severe weather, the mall. Group sizes have ranged from six to fifteen, but there is no limit. Hikes are open to everyone, including those who are not members of our church. Each hike has a designated leader, who is responsible for planning the outing and briefing the group prior to the hike. Anyone can volunteer to be a hike leader. Upon completion of a hike, we retire to a nearby restaurant for refreshments, discuss the highlights of the outing and select a hike and leader for the next event. A log is maintained of each hike. For additional information contact Ed and Pat Whitmore co-chairs (752-0468) or Tom and Bonnie White vice co-chairs (752-1244).
