GEMS

The year 2011 has been an eventful time. It started with Dr. Don leading us in a variety of experiences including interesting programs. Several of our members were involved in service to the church (folding bulletins, preparing monthly envelopes for shut-ins, filling backpacks for the mission committee). Midway through the year, after a modification of duties of church personnel, the group had a change in leadership. A variety of programs were presented including missionaries from Poland; information and instruction on couponing; an understanding of program of the Special Needs organizatiion; a comparison of Muslin beliefs and Christianity; the importance of physical fitness for seniors; and a report of the Iowa General Assembly activities important to our age group. Fun times included a presentation of a trip to Europe; a lunch at Hotel Lynn in Biggsville and a potluck luncheon with a white elephant gift exchange.

Our goals include being able to continue a similar program of activities including fun, games, and lunch similar to this past year and increast our membership. Anyone want to join us on Thursday morning???
